Podcasts Recommendations + Why I Love Them
I’ve been a huge fan of podcasts for a couple years now but I’ve been listening even more frequently since working from home. There are so many incredible podcasts with such good information. Podcasts are free resources that you can listen to on the go- whether that is in your car, doing the dishes, working, etc. I received AirPods as a graduation gift and they’ve been a game changer when it comes to increasing my podcast listening time! I’ve listed out my favorite podcasts below that can be found in the Apple Podcast App or Spotify!
Creative + Business Podcasts:
Biz Bash Podcast: This one is probably my absolute favorite because Cami & Elisabeth are so entertaining but also packed full of knowledge. They are both primarily Stationery Designers but also sell products and resources for fellow creatives. These women keep everything fun while sharing everything from tips for working with clients to helping boost your product based business. They talk about it all and do fun Q+A Episodes where they answer listener’s questions called Q+Cake! Fun fact: one time my question was answered on an episode!!
The Jenna Rainey Show: This podcast is one of my recent finds and I’m sad I didn’t find it sooner! I’ve been following Jenna for a while now and I also have her book, Everyday Watercolor. Jenna is full of advice and tips on growing your creative business. She began her journey as a watercolor artist designing wedding invitations but has grown to be a best selling author and educator.
Goal Digger Podcast: The Goal Digger Podcast is hosted by Jenna Kutcher, a photographer and marketing educator. I binged most of this podcast last summer while driving to and from work. Some of my favorite topics that Jenna talks about is email marketing as well as using social media to promote your business. One of my favorite things about Jenna’s podcast is all of her incredible guests that she has on the show! She brings on women from all sorts of industries with all sorts of stories, specialties, backgrounds and more.
The Modern Creative: I found this podcast through an interview that the Modern Creative did with the Biz Bash Podcast! These ladies are full of good information and helped me prep for my brand shoot. This is a more recent find so I haven’t listened to a ton of episodes but I’m enjoying it so far!
On Purpose with Alex Beadon: Alex is known for her Instagram stories and marketing through social media. She has so much energy and is so upbeat while delivering insightful content. Alex is currently not releasing new episodes but she has loads of previous ones to binge!
Crime + Mystery
Crime Junkie: This one is my favorite crime podcast! Honestly, I look forwards to Mondays now because that means a new Crime Junkie episode! Ashley + Britt are incredible storytellers who really know their cases. Each week, they share a new case- sometimes serial killers, missing people, mysterious deaths, and more. They also do case updates and will do interviews with people involved in the case such as police or detectives, family members of the deceased, or even people involved in the investigation.
Moms & Murder: This crime podcast also covers murders but doesn’t go quite as in-depth as Crime Junkie does! It’s more lighthearted and fun as it is hosted by two moms named Mandy and Melissa. I love their bits called “We Googled this City” where they tell the audience fun facts about each city where the crime happened.
Court Junkie: I just found this one last week but it’s pretty good! I do like this one because you get the crime and investigation side of things but also learn about the court testimonies, verdict, sentencing, etc. This one reminds me more of Law & Order SVU while Crime Junkie reminds me of Criminal Minds (both shows that I LOVE).
